Keeping pace with global sustainable development trends, the Company has defined its vision for sustainability as "People-Oriented, Diverse Innovation, Low-Carbon Production, and Social Inclusion." Across the three dimensions of environment, society, and corporate governance, SZS has established Five Sustainability Strategies to broaden its corporate influence and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Embedding Sustainability Governance into Core Competitiveness
Sustainability is integral to our business strategy. We have aligned our decarbonization roadmap with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), expanding green power procurement and integrating climate risks into strategic decisions.
By adopting IFRS S1 and S2 standards, we have elevated our ESG disclosure quality, transforming sustainability from a compliance checklist into an internal value driver. As carbon pricing and supply chain accountability become baseline market thresholds, we choose proactive preparation over passive compliance.

Building a Business Environment with Sustainability in its DNA
Over the course of 58 years, SZS has weathered a wide range of challenges. This year marks a period of active transformation and expansion for the Company. In terms of operational footprint, we established a new plant in Vietnam designed around green-building principles. In product development, guided by the principles of sustainable management and green manufacturing, we have broken away from conventional thinking to innovate low-carbon products, select environmentally friendly materials, adopt smart-manufacturing modules, design low-carbon processes, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operating costs. Led by the vision of "Greening – Decarbonization – Intelligence," we are driving green transformation across the entire Group. In parallel, we have begun investing in the energy-storage industry through strategic investment, and are leveraging green finance to acquire a range of energy-saving equipment—building a business environment with sustainability in its DNA.
International Trends Toward Energy Conservation, Carbon Reduction, and Net Zero
In 2023, SZS committed to adopting the science-based decarbonization methodology of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in response to international trends toward energy conservation, carbon reduction, and net zero, as well as the expectations of our customers.
In the environmental dimension, we conduct greenhouse gas emission inventories across all Group plants and continuously optimize our EMS (Environmental Management System). By analyzing various emission data to identify the largest sources of carbon, we implement carbon-reduction plans in the most effective manner possible. For waste management within our plants, we review the flow of all waste and, through compliance management, inspection, and auditing, verify that waste conversion processes—including reduction, recycling and reuse, and energy recovery—meet the requirements of the Landfill Waste Diversion Claim Validation (UL-2799).

- Conducted organizational greenhouse gas inventories under ISO 14064-1:2018 (SZS Taiwan, Kunshan Cheng-Chieh, Dongguan Cheng-Yueh, Fuqing Hong-Xing, and Suzhou Xin-Ri-Xing) and obtained verification statements
- Established SZS's first Sustainable Development Committee
- Joined the Taiwan Climate Partnership
- Awarded the Bronze TCSA Sustainability Report Award (Electronics & Information Manufacturing) on our first entry
- Joined the TWCERT cybersecurity alliance

- Received the MIT Outstanding Taiwanese Business Innovative Management Award
- Participated in the Industrial Development Administration's ONE+N Electronics Supply Chain Net-Zero Acceleration Program
- Established a Sustainability Seed Team
- Submitted a commitment letter to SBTi to set science-based carbon reduction targets
- Established the SZS Volunteer Team
