Milestones of SZS's management of environmental restricted substances
Green Products
All of the Company's products have been fully compliant with the EU's RoHS Directive since 2006.In 2007, the Company implemented the IECQ QC080000 HSPM (Hazardous Substance Process Management) system and passed the IECQ certification, ensuring the effective management of environmental restricted substances in green product processes.
In 2008, the Company began manufacturing Halogen Free (HF) products in response to the potential hazards of halogen compounds to the human body and environment proposed by international green organizations.
In 2009, the EU announced REACH and the Company also began working with its supply chain to investigate chemical components in its products, ensuring that there are no Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) specified by REACH in products.
Green supply chain
Facing the global trend of environmental protection and challenges brought by environmental protection laws and regulations, SZS contributes to environmental protection through the development of new technologies and its comprehensive management system, working towards the sustainability of human society. To achieve this goal, SZS lists environmental restricted substances as a key item when reviewing designs during early stages of R&D, strictly requiring its supply chain to provide materials that comply with international environmental protection laws and regulations, the environmental restricted substance standards established by SZS, and QC080000 HSF management.
The Company established supplier management procedures and requires vendors to pass an evaluation before becoming a qualified supplier.
Vendors of green products that obtained ISO 9000, TS 16949 or higher level certifications and vendors designated by customers as meeting green product requirements may be directly registered as the Company's qualified supplier as an encouragement. We verify the management ability of suppliers in development to ensure that they can meet our standards for environmental hazardous substances. All suppliers are required to, at a minimum, pass the third-party certification for international quality management systems (third-party certification units are laboratories/testing institutions recognized by customers or Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF). The contents specify the responsibilities of suppliers and the requirement to provide an Environmental Hazardous Substances Guarantee, Certificate of Non-use of Environmental Hazardous Substances, test report from a third-party certification unit, and SDS or content form, so as to prove that the products delivered do not exceed the environmental hazardous substances standards of the Company.

ISO-14001/TOSHMS EHS Policy Promotion Energy conservation & carbon reduction, compliance, pollution prevention and control, injury prevention, effective disaster mitigation, participation by all employees, and continual improvement.- Properly carry out pollution prevention and control work, and properly monitor and manage air quality, wastewater, waste, and noise.
- The Company values relationships with community residents and local authorities. We are happy to negotiate environmental protection and labor safety issues they are concerned about, and fully communicate with them. Documents on environmental protection and labor safety are used for promotion for all employees and personnel in the organization.
- Comply with laws and regulations on environmental protection and labor safety and requirements for other certifications, and continue to reduce pollution with an emphasis on effective resource use, in order to achieve industrial waste reduction and industrial safety.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of the environmental and occupational safety and health policy and goals based on environment and labor safety records, and take suitable corrective measures.
- Conduct periodic management reviews to reduce accidents, implement the environmental protection and labor safety system, and let all employees and contractors understand the system, in order to fulfill the Company's responsibilities.
