"Conservation, Innovation, Care, and Sustainability" are the directions in which SZS fulfills its social responsibility. They also serve as guiding principles for operations and management. Facing an uncertain future business environment, our only choice is to become even more active and pragmatic, and fulfill our social responsibility with the true entrepreneurial spirit, which will allow us to maintain stable operations and continue to grow. We will uphold the concept of sustainability and dedicate even more effort and resources for our company and society. Hence, we believe that by establishing a CSR organization and system we can create even greater value and take on greater responsibility with stronger capabilities and a steady pace.
Message from the President
The Company has upheld the philosophy of steady operations and growth since 1965, and gradually diversified operations as we exerted great effort to learn how to improve our results. At the beginning, we focused on gaining a steady foothold. As we gained greater technical capabilities, cultivated professional talent, and implemented systematic management, we gradually expanded our business, which laid the foundation for our growth today.
We developed numerous patented structural components to achieve further growth and expand our business. The products have gained recognition and are used by customers in the computer industry in Taiwan and overseas, proving our strong R&D capabilities and technologies.
We believe that by fulfilling our corporate social responsibility and combining our vision with the management team's wisdom and abilities, we will be able to seize market opportunities, serve customers, and contribute to society.
Sustainable Development
Policy：We uphold the principle and attitude of giving back to society and fulfilling our social responsibility. Besides focusing on our business, we will combine the resources of corporations and society to jointly create a good and healthy environment. We also hope to become a part of global green supply chains, interact, and continue to grow. The Company is a rapidly growing business organization that aims to be ethical and actively fulfill its corporate social responsibility, and is concerned about environmental protection and corporate social responsibility related issues. We are committed to environmental protection and fulfilling our corporate social responsibility, and also comply with EHS requirements such as ISO 14001 and QC 080000. We also attach great importance to business ethics, environmental protection, health and safety, employee relations, corporate governance, and social engagement, and continue to meet requirements of related certifications. The Company's Corporate Social Responsibility Committee was established in accordance with CSR related management regulations. The committee is responsible for establishing the Company's CSR guidelines and policy, establishing and maintaining management regulations, and continuing to monitor and improve the Company's fulfillment of its corporate social responsibility based on the Company's business strategies. Members include the heads of each business group, who come together to discuss how to fulfill the Company's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Pursuant to the "SZS Corporate Social Responsibility Promotion and Management Regulations," a CSR management review meeting is convened at least once a year to examine the contents of CSR and attainment of goals in the previous year. Depending on the situation, the SZS Corporate Social Responsibility Promotion and Management Regulations are adjusted and amended for the following year, implementation goals and management plans are set based on the actual situation, and then submitted to the Board of Directors.
Social Welfare
The Company actively participates in community activities based on the philosophy of giving back to society:
Sponsored the lantern festival activity series held by Zhennan Temple each year, sponsored weekly gatherings of elderly people, sponsored the "2019 Shulin District Outdoor Move Theater," "2019 Shulin District Arts and Culture Children's Summer Camp," and "2019 Donations to Harmonica Clubs of Schools in Shulin District" organized by Shulin District Office, and supported New Taipei City's Good Day platform by donating a batch of electronic sphygmomanometers to elderly clubs in Shulin District, benefiting communities as we dedicate our efforts to fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
We care about underprivileged families in remote area and regularly donate rice and food, passing on happiness and care. We also actively provide care for the underprivileged and provide scholarships through the Single Parent Educational Foundation, Chinese Christian Relief Association, Tzu Chi Foundation, and Sunshine Social Welfare Foundation. As of the end of September 2019, we provided NT$14,147,224 for charity events, working together with forces of good to build a charity platform of love and help underprivileged families and children.
To strengthen our cooperation with academia, we donated a FANUC robot arm set to National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in 2016, aiding its teaching, research, and technology development for Industry 4.0, in order to cultivate the technology talent needed by industry. In 2019, we donated a robotic arm and grinding device worth NT$3 million to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology. President Tzu-Hsiang Ko specially represented the university in awarding a letter of appreciation to President Lu, thanking him for the generous donation and for providing excellent internship opportunities, which significantly contributes to the practical abilities of students at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology.
